Hon Erica Stanford: The new average redress payment only reflects an average. The amount that an individual survivor receives will depend on their individual claim and experience of abuse. Financial redress is part of a broader redress package that also includes apologies and the provision of support. This package builds on wider supports and services available, for example through ACC and Disability Support Services.
