26958 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Attorney-General: What rules or directives, if any, were sent to the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, regarding making bids for Budget 2026?
Hon Chris Bishop: Crown Law was invited to submit a budget bid as part of the Justice Sector Law and Order Envelope. The rules and directives for making bids for Budget 2026 were issued by the Treasury through formal circulars and guidance, including "Treasury Circular 2025/17 Budget 2026: Guidance" and "Treasury Circular 2026/02 Budget 2026: Process Guidance and Timetable for Departments". The Parliamentary Counsel Office received a Budget Invitation letter on 4 November 2025 which confirmed that the Office was not invited to submit any new initiatives and/or capital investments in Budget 2026.
