26955 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Attorney-General: What cost pressures within their relevant portfolio Votes, if any, was the Minister informed of prior to Budget 2026 - listing any advice received on this by date and title?
Hon Chris Bishop: Crown Law did not provide separate advice to the Minister on cost pressures within Vote Attorney General for Budget 2026. Crown Law contributed to the Justice Sector Law and Order Envelope process, through which cost pressures across portfolio Votes were consolidated and advised to Ministers by the Justice Sector Directorate. Cost pressures relating to "Addressing critical legislative delivery and access pressures" at the Parliamentary Counsel Office were first signalled to the Attorney-General Office on 29 May 2025 and later submitted as an out-of-cycle funding request on 8 July 2025. This was approved by Cabinet on 4 August 2025.
