26839 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister for Rail: How much, if any, are the Minister’s responsible agencies, if any, expecting to cut their overall budget by in 2025/26 and each of the out years as a result of Budget 2025?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: KiwiRail is a commercial business and budgets its costs to be lower than its revenue earned. With respect to the rail network, this is funded through the Rail Network Investment Programme approved by the Government and the 2024/25-2026/27 Programme is fully funded under Budget 2025.
