26783 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How does the delivery of the Wellington Regional Hospital rapid build ward interact with the major Wellington hospital rebuild, and will it be redeployed once the rebuild is complete?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the Wellington District Programme Steering Group has visibility of the interim inpatient unit project, along with other major infrastructure initiatives across the campus, ensuring effective oversight of interdependencies. I am further advised that Wellington Hospital is undertaking broader master planning and will review the continued need for the ward or consider the redeployment opportunities once the Wellington Emergency Department programme is completed.
