Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Revenue: What initiatives, if any, have funding that will be carried over in each of the Vote’s that the Minister has responsibility for, if any, from the 2024/25 year into the 2025/26 year and what for what reason or reasons will these funds be carried over?

Hon Simon Watts: Inland Revenue has an in-principle expense transfer of up to $3 million from 2024/25 to 2025/26 for the implementation of international initiatives, as approved in the 2025 March Baseline Update. These initiatives include global anti-base erosion model rules, OECD common reporting standards and the crypto-asset regulatory framework. The transfer, if required, will enable Inland Revenue to implement these initiatives over multiple years with no impact on the application dates or the total cost of these initiatives.
