26738 (2023). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: As of 6 December 2023 what is the current number of people on the National Gang List, with the data broken down by police district?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised the Gang Harm Insights Centre (GHIC) currently update the National Gang List (NGL) figures every two months. As of October 2023, there were 9270 patched and prospect gang members recorded on the NGL.  I refer the Member to the attached table, which shows the number of individuals on the NGL, broken down by district. The NGL is not a statistically reliable measure of gang membership, rather it is an intelligence tool used by the GHIC to understand the gang environment.
