26720 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Land Information: Which agencies, departments, Crown entities, companies, or other organisations for which the Minister is responsible, if any, have been required to identify or deliver baseline savings or staffing reductions since 27 November 2023, and how much, if anything, has each delivered, broken down by organisation and year, as at 5 June 2026?
Mike Butterick: Since November 2023, Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) has made savings initiative submissions in Budget 2024 and Budget 2026. A baseline saving of $8.6 million ongoing was identified by LINZ for Budget 2024, details of which were reported in the Vote Lands Estimates of Appropriations in 2024/25. A baseline saving of $2.1 million ongoing was identified by LINZ for Budget 2026, details of which were reported in the Vote Lands Estimates of Appropriations 2026/27. This savings represents 2 percent of the ‘calculated baseline’ advised by Treasury. LINZ agreed an annual FTE reduction target with the previous Minister for Land Information as part of the 2025/26 Performance Plan. The FTE reduction target for 30 June 2026 was 800 FTE.
