26711 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Attorney-General

26711 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Attorney-General: Which agencies, departments, Crown entities, companies, or other organisations for which the Minister is responsible, if any, have been required to identify or deliver baseline savings or staffing reductions since 27 November 2023, and how much, if anything, has each delivered, broken down by organisation and year, as at 5 June 2026?
Hon Chris Bishop: As part of Budget 2024, Crown Law was required to identify baseline savings and delivered $2m per annum from 2024/25 through a combination of the baseline savings exercise and the organisational review. Crown Law was not required to identify any baseline savings for Budget 2026. However, it has been advised to contribute to the Government’s in-principle target of reducing total public service FTEs to below 55,000 by 2029. The specific approach and level of Crown Law’s contribution are yet to be confirmed. The Parliamentary Counsel Office has not been required to deliver baseline savings or staffing reductions since 27 November 2023 as a result of reprioritisations to deliver new services within baseline.
