26693 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Acting Minister for Women: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies for which savings have been identified resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, if any, how many roles have been identified for disestablishment, listed by role title, remuneration band, and business group (or equivalent organisational unit) as at 30 May 2024?
Hon Louise Upston: The Ministry for Women is currently consulting on a change proposal focused on the tier 2 leadership team. Final decisions will be made after consultation on the proposal. The Ministry will not be reappointing five vacant positions as part of their plan to meet the 7.5 percent savings target. These roles do not include positions that work with children, people with disabilities, or roles which specifically focus on Pasifika or Maori. Additionally, these roles do not include health and safety professionals or economists.
