Camilla Belich to the Minister of Transport: How many staff, if any, at any agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible, since 27 November 2023, have been made redundant, broken down by month and by (a) voluntary redundancy and (b) all other forms of redundancy; and of those, how many have subsequently been appointed to a new role at the same agency, broken down by employment status (contractor, consultant, permanent, part-time), as at 5 June 2026?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that 10 positions at the Ministry of Transport were disestablished since 27 November 2023. The Ministry has not reappointed any employees that were made redundant. A total of 144 people have been made redundant (voluntarily or otherwise) between 27 November 2023 at NZ Transport Agency (NZTA). I refer the Member to the attached document for a break down by month and redundancy type.
