Hon Mark Mitchell: The Sport New Zealand Group has been required to identify and deliver baseline savings since 27 November 2023. The savings delivered, broken down by organisation and financial year, are set out below. Financial year HPSNZ savings ($) Sport NZ savings ($) Budget 2024 - 9,000 Budget 2025 - 3,810 Budget 2026 475 1,410 I am advised that $5.9 million of the Budget 2024 savings attributed to HPSNZ have been absorbed by Sport NZ, with funding support in place until the 2027/28 financial year. Savings have been delivered through reprioritising funding, use of reserves and revenue, and reductions in staffing and operating costs, while maintaining front-line investment and services.
