Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Education: What initiatives, if any, have funding that will be carried over in each of the Vote’s that the Minister has responsibility for, if any, from the 2024/25 year into the 2025/26 year and what for what reason or reasons will these funds be carried over?

Hon Erica Stanford: In-principle transfers of funding from 2024/25 to 2025/26 will be submitted for approval in the 2025 October Baseline Update after finalisation of the Ministry of Education’s 2024/2025 financial results Education New Zealand (ENZ) is still working through end of financial year reporting for 2024/25 and detailed budget planning for 2025/26. Once this is completed, ENZ will then be able to identify funds to be carried over. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority does not have any initiatives that will require funding being carried over from the 2024/25 year into the 2025/26 year. ERO is not expecting to cut its overall budget in 2025/26 and each of the out years as a result of Budget 2025.
