26549 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations: What is the total sum, if any, spent on wages for any contractors and consultants who have been previously employed in a different capacity at any agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible, since 27 November 2023, as at 5 June 2026, broken down by month and organisation?
Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that Te Tari Whakatau records whether a contractor has been employed by Te Tari Whakatau within the 24 months prior to their contract commencing. Te Tari Whakatau does not record this information for consultants. Te Tari Whakatau reports its contractor expenditure quarterly. I am advised that from 1 January 2024 to 31 March 2026 Te Tari Whakatau spent $37,385 on 2 contractor engagements, where contractors were previously employed by Te Tari Whakatau within 24 months of their contract commencing. A breakdown by financial year is provided in attachment one as the most accurate representation of the available data. A breakdown by month of Ngāpuhi Investment Fund (Tupu Tonu) spend on contractors who were previously employed by Tupu Tonu in a different capacity are also provided in attachment one.
