Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for Hunting and Fishing: Does the Minister intend to “strengthen the Game Animal Council and designate ‘herds of special interest’” as outlined in the National Party’s ‘Recreation, Culture and Food’ document, and if so, what advice, reports, briefings, aide memoires, or any other documents has the Minister, or any member of their Office commissioned on this by title and date?

Hon Todd McClay: The 100-day plan and coalition agreements outline the intentions of this Government. I am receiving advice from officials on taking our commitments forward over this term of government, including actions that could be taken. I received the following relevant briefings in the week of 27 November covering the Government’s policy commitments: - 27 November 2023 – Briefing to the Incoming Minister for Hunting and Fishing - 30 November 2023 – Briefing – Supporting you to deliver on your Hunting and Fishing policy commitments. I have commissioned further advice on a range of matters, including on establishing herds of special interest.
