26481 (2026). Hon Julie Anne Genter to the Minister of Transport: How many active investigations, into contract mismanagement, conflicts of interest, or financial discrepancies, if any, are currently being handled by NZTA’s internal integrity team, and who will retain ownership of the files if the team is restructured or disestablished?

Hon Chris Bishop: As at 8 June 2026, NZTA has approximately eight matters that are with the Compliance and Integrity team that are in preliminary or investigation phases relating to contract mismanagement, conflicts of interest or financial discrepancies. Management also receive queries regarding conflict of interest and financial matters regularly as part of management controls and practices. These are not tracked centrally. There are no active restructure proposals or live consultations relating to these roles at this time.
