Hon Erica Stanford: The total amount paid in redundancy costs at the Ministry from 27 November 2023 to 31 May 2026 is $17,049,672. The total amount of positions disestablished at the Ministry from 27 November 2023 to 31 May 2026 is 1,206. This figure includes 369 vacant positions. I am advised by Education New Zealand that, between 27 November 2023 and 5 June 2026, there have been 17 redundancies with the total cost of redundancy payments of $655,921. In addition, consultancy fees relating to the organisation restructure totalled $43,362. I am advised by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority that, between 27 November 2023 and 5 June 2026, 106 positions were disestablished, and 66 of these were vacant roles. The total cost of redundancy payments was $1,659,612.63. I am advised by the Education Review Office that, between 27 November 2023 and 5 June 2026, the total cost of redundancy payments of $82,301.
