26425 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Education: Which agencies, departments, Crown entities, companies, or other organisations for which the Minister is responsible, if any, have been required to identify or deliver baseline savings or staffing reductions since 27 November 2023, and how much, if anything, has each delivered, broken down by organisation and year, as at 5 June 2026?
Hon Erica Stanford: Through Budget 2024, the Ministry of Education undertook an initial baseline exercise, resulting in a $67.8 million reduction to Vote Education’s 2024/25 baseline. Where other savings have been identified, these are reprioritised to other education priorities. I am advised that, as at 5 June 2026, Education New Zealand has delivered baseline savings of $2.325 million in 2024/25 and $1.350 million in 2025/26. These figures include staffing reductions. I am advised that the Education Review Office delivered baseline savings of $2.456 million for Budget 2024. I am advised that the New Zealand Qualifications Authority has not been required to identify or deliver baseline savings or staffing reductions since 27 November 2023.
