Camilla Belich to the Minister of Customs: What is the total sum, if any, spent on wages for any contractors and consultants who have been previously employed in a different capacity at any agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible, since 27 November 2023, as at 5 June 2026, broken down by month and organisation?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that since 27 November 2023, Customs engaged two consultants (who were previously employed at Customs on a permanent basis) to deliver coaching sessions. One individual left Customs in May 2024 and was subsequently engaged as a contractor within Customs between May and June 2025. Contracting costs were $1,200 in May 2025 and $1,200 in July 2025. The other individual left Customs in 2019/20 and was subsequently engaged as a contractor in July and October 2024, and March 2025 which cost a total of $1400. Contracting costs were $500 in July 2024, $300 in October 2024, and $600 in March 2025.
