26421 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Customs: How many staff, if any, at any agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible, since 27 November 2023, have been made redundant, broken down by month and by (a) voluntary redundancy and (b) all other forms of redundancy; and of those, how many have subsequently been appointed to a new role at the same agency, broken down by employment status (contractor, consultant, permanent, part-time), as at 5 June 2026?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that since 27 November 2023, 61 Customs staff have been made redundant. Of these, one staff member was subsequently engaged as a contractor within Customs between May and June 2025. Contracting costs were $1,200 in May 2025 and $1,200 in July 2025. I refer the Member to the attached appendix, which provide a breakdown of the number of staff made redundant through voluntary redundancy and other forms of redundancy since 27 November 2023, by month/year and number of staff.
