Hon Willie Jackson to the Minister for Media and Communications: Following any advice provided to the Government from the Public Service Commissioner, what actions, if any, were taken by the Minister regarding Andrew Shaw's breach of the Public Service Commission's Code of Conduct for Board Members?

Hon Melissa Lee: On 28/11/23 at approximately 4.45pm my office was alerted to Andrew Shaw's comments. Resultantly I spoke with the Chief Executive of MCH at approximately 5pm. I also received a call from Dr Ruth Harley, Chair of NZ on Air subsequently at approximately 5.30pm. The only advice I sought from the Public Service Commission was to clarify the form of the resignation and any responsibilities I had as Minister - this was delivered via phone at approximately the time the resignation mentioned in Reply 26298(2023) was received (c6.09-6.15pm).
