26130 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Transport: What new user charges, if any, will be introduced by the Minister’s responsible agencies, if any, in 2025/26, and for each of these what is the total amount expected to be collected?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that the Ministry of Transport currently has no plans to introduce new user charges. I am advised for NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, there will be new user charges for the clean car standard of $19.53 per vehicle (GST exclusive) and a small charge for administration of the payment. The total amount raised is expected to be around $5.5 million. This is to cover the cost of operating the clean car standard.
