Written Question
Published date: 19 Jun 2026
26100 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Māori Development: How many confidential settlement agreements, non-disclosure agreements or confidentiality clauses, if any, have been entered into with employees, former employees, contractors, or office holders by any agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by organisation, total cost, and year, as at 5 June 2026?
Hon Tama Potaka: Each year Te Puni Kōkiri is required to report on settlement agreements with employees through Select Committee processes for Estimates and Annual Reviews. I am advised that Te Puni Kōkiri will prepare this information for the upcoming Māori Affairs Select Committee’s Estimates Review process and it will be available publicly in due course on the Parliament website at the following link: https://www.parliament.nz/en/pb/sc/scl/maori-affairs/tab/report#filterformsearchtarget. I am further advised, Te Puni Kōkiri has standard confidentiality clauses in agreements and/or policies and does not require kaimahi or contractors to sign separate Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) when they take up their positions, except in exceptional circumstances.
