26085 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How many confidential settlement agreements, non-disclosure agreements or confidentiality clauses, if any, have been entered into with employees, former employees, contractors, or office holders by any agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by organisation, total cost, and year, as at 5 June 2026?
Hon Brooke van Velden: Department of Internal Affairs: I refer the member to the response to Written Question 26075 (2026). Classification Office: I am advised that the Office has one confidential settlement in the period from 27 November 2023 to 5 June 2026. Due to the small number of settlements and the size of the Office we are not able to provide the rest of the information requested, without breaching the privacy of the individual involved. All staff of the Classification Office are covered by a confidentiality clause in either their individual employment Agreement or their Collective Agreement. Lotto New Zealand: I refer the member to the response to Written Question 26075 (2026). Fire and Emergency New Zealand: I am advised that Fire and Emergency New Zealand engages contractors through the All-of-Government Talent Acquisition Services Agreement. This agreement contains clauses that provide an obligation to protect an agency confidential information. This general provision is used when engaging all contractors through the AOG panel providers. In relation to employees and former employees, Fire and Emergency New Zealand entered into 42 settlement agreements between 27 November 2023 and 5 June 2026. Not all settlement agreements included financial payments under section 123 of the ERA. The table below sets out, by calendar year, the number of settlement agreements entered into and the total value of financial payments made under section 123 of the ERA where applicable.
