26077 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Prime Minister: What briefings or advice, if any, has the Minister received on the fiscal implications of redundancies – voluntary or not – in each of the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies (where applicable within their portfolio) resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, listed by title and date, as at 30 May 2024?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the Responsible Minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). I received the following documents from
from my officials in the DPMC between 27 November 2023 and 30 May 2024 which meet the definition as asked:
• Briefing: Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet - Savings Options – 30 January 2024
• Aide Memoire: Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet – Budget 2024 Impact Analysis – 18 April 2024.
Furthermore, staff in my office may informally receive documents, including draft documents, from my officials in DPMC and from other agencies, and from Ministers’ offices. This information is not held in a format that can be easily extracted within the time frame.
