26075 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How many financial settlements, if any, have been entered into with employees, former employees, contractors, or office holders by any agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by organisation, total cost, and year, as at 5 June 2026?
Hon Brooke van Velden: Department of Internal Affairs: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that there have been 35 financial settlements since 27 November 2023 at a total cost of $1,093,939. In 2024 there were ten settlements at a cost of $316,182 and in 2025/2026, 25 settlements at a cost of $777,757. No non-disclosure agreements have been used since 27 November 2023. Classification Office: The Classification Office has made one financial settlement in the period from 27 November 2023 to 5 June 2026. Due to the small number of settlements and the size of the Office we are not able to provide the rest of the information requested without breaching the privacy of the individual involved. Lotto New Zealand: I am advised by Lotto New Zealand that a total of four financial settlements have been entered into by Lotto NZ with employees and former employees since 27 November 2023. Due to the small number of settlements and the size of the Office we are not able to provide the rest of the information requested without breaching the privacy of the individuals involved. Fire and Emergency NZ: The number of financial settlements entered into with employees, former employees, contractors, or office holders by Fire and Emergency New Zealand since 27 November 2023, and the associated costs, are set out in the table attached. The figures include settlements entered into during the period from 27 November 2023 to 5 June 2026. Costs are reported in the calendar year in which the settlement was entered into.
