Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Māori Development: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies for which savings have been identified resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, if any, what savings have been identified, as at 30 May 2024?

Hon Tama Potaka: The Government's directive to reduce expenditure in the public service has implications through savings for Te Puni Kokiri beginning in the 2024/25 financial year. I have been advised that Te Puni Kōkiri has implemented tighter fiscal controls and improved financial management which may result in an underspend for this current financial year. These underspends are not in scope of the Government directive to reduce expenditure in the public service
