26017 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Corrections
Written Question
Published date: 18 Jun 2026
26017 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Corrections: How many confidential settlement agreements, non-disclosure agreements or confidentiality clauses, if any, have been entered into with employees, former employees, contractors, or office holders by any agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by organisation, total cost, and year, as at 5 June 2026?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that non-disclosure agreements are not used at Corrections in a human resources context, however, there can be an obligation of confidence applying to details discussed in, or the outcome of a mediation process, for the parties involved.
To provide the number of confidential settlement agreements and confidentiality clauses in place in relation to these, officials would be required to manually analyse each settlement agreement. This would amount to substantial collation and manual analysis, which I am not prepared to ask for the purpose of this response.
I am further advised that Corrections follows the Public Service Commission Workforce Assurance model standards in relation to settlement agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure statements.
I am also advised that many of Corrections’ employment agreements contain a standard confidentiality clause which states the employee must not misuse or disclose any confidential information that comes to their knowledge by virtue of their employment with Corrections.
Corrections reports information on the total costs and number of financial settlements as a result of personal grievances and proceedings with the Employment Relations Authority or Employment Court in a consistent manner each year through the Estimates select committee process.
Corrections’ responses to the Estimates questionnaire for each financial year is publicly available on their website at:
