Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What briefings or advice, if any, has the Minister received on the fiscal implications of redundancies – voluntary or not – in each of the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies (where applicable within their portfolio) resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, listed by title and date, as at 30 May 2024?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I have not received any specific briefings on the fiscal implications of redundancies. However, I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that any costs of possible redundancies as a result of the change processes currently underway will be met from Vote Internal Affairs 2023/24 baselines.
