25948 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: How many of the Roads of National Significance, if any, have had a confirmed main construction start date assigned, as at 5 June 2026?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised by NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi that Ōtaki to north of Levin: Te Pae o Tararua highway, State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway, Takitimu North Link Stage 1 and State Highway 29 Omanawa Bridge replacement are currently under construction. SH1 Cambridge to Piarere has entered the procurement stage and is expected to begin construction in 2027.
