25922 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Children: What briefings or advice, if any, has the Minister received on the fiscal implications of redundancies – voluntary or not – in each of the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies (where applicable within their portfolio) resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, listed by title and date, as at 30 May 2024?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that the number of positions expected to be made redundant will not be known until a final decision is made on the future structure of Oranga Tamariki, noting the current change process that is underway. In cases where redundancy results from a change process, the staff member may be entitled to a redundancy payment in accordance with the provisions of their employment agreement.
