Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Transport: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies for which savings have been identified, resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, what percentage of employees who have lost or are set to lose their roles, as well as vacancies that will not be filled, if any, are located in the Canterbury Region, as at 30 May 2024?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the Ministry of Transport is currently assessing the changes required to meet the Government’s savings target and are not in a position to provide specific figures on the number of roles which may be disestablished.
