25863 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: By how many dwellings, if any, will Kāinga Ora's planned maintenance programme be reduced as a result of the Kāinga Ora Expenditure Reductions saving in Budget 2026 (which records a $368.0 million operating saving over five years through reduced maintenance and depreciation following lower construction costs associated with the Kāinga Ora Turnaround Plan), expressed as the number of homes receiving (a) planned and (b) responsive maintenance in each year compared with the previous baseline?
Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities advises me that it continues to undertake planned and responsive maintenance activity in its homes while achieving forecast savings in Budget 2026. It will continue to build on efficiencies in the way it undertakes maintenance, ensuring the right work is undertaken at the right time to maintain the assets for current and future tenants.
