25831 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How many permanent staff, if any, will be employed within each of the Minister’s responsible agencies, if any, during 2025/26 financial year?

Hon Brooke van Velden: The Department of Internal Affairs (the Department) I am advised by the Department that forecast information is not available for 2025/26 as the Department is currently in the process of confirming its permanent establishment for the next financial year.  The Lotteries Commission I am advised that the projected figure is based on 232 permanent employees and 2 approved strategic workforce planning positions. Fire and Emergency New Zealand I am advised by Fire and Emergency New Zealand that as at 31 March 2025, there were 3019.2 permanent staff at the organisation. It is anticipated that at the beginning of the 2025/26 year there is unlikely to be any material change in permanent numbers at Fire and Emergency. The exact number of permanent positions for the period requested will be published in Fire and Emergency’s 2025/26 Annual Report. Office of Film and Literature Classification I am advised that forecast information is not available for 2025/26.
