25801 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister for the Environment: What new user charges, if any, were introduced by the Minister’s responsible agencies, if any, in 2024/25, and for each of these what is the total amount expected to be collected?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I refer the Member to question 33 of the Supplementary Estimates questionnaire 2024/2025 available at: https://www.parliament.nz/resource/en-NZ/54SCENV_EVI_a8194f8e-9cf8-4a28-0d90-08dc86791985_ENV73934/c9c5ea2d0d87b62287147a18f9a684805fc9d674 During 2024/25, the Environmental Protection Authority introduced two new user charges – both under the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024. The EPA is expected to generate $3.701 million from levies, and $3.462 million from application fees.
