Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Economic Growth: How much, if any, is the total budget in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2026/27 financial year on artificial intelligence- including costs on training staff, deploying systems, maintaining subscriptions and any other associated costs?

Hon Nicola Willis: I am advised that the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s work programmes for the 2026/27 financial year are currently being prepared, and internal budgets have not yet been finalised. With regard to New Zealand Growth Capital Partners (NZGCP) I am advised that, for the 2026/27 financial year, NZGCP has a budget of $70,775 relating to artificial intelligence, which includes new and existing subscriptions and training.
