Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Media and Communications: How much, if any, is the total budget in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2026/27 financial year on artificial intelligence- including costs on training staff, deploying systems, maintaining subscriptions and any other associated costs?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that many artificial intelligence tools are integrated into existing software and as such the cost of AI tools cannot be reasonably seperated. To undertake a review of all software and tools used by the organisations I am responsible for would require a significant diversion of resource. As per Speaker’s Ruling 199/6, I do not consider it to be in the public interest to undertake an exercise to identify and collate the material requested. The Member may wish to provide more specificity and I can assist further.
