25747 (2026). Vanushi Walters to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: What discussions, if any, has the Minister or officials had with foreign counterparts regarding seabed critical minerals in the Pacific region since 1 January 2026, by date and location?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: There were a range of discussions at the Ministerial level about seabed critical minerals in the Pacific region with foreign counterparts during January and February 2026. These discussions took place in Kiribati and in New Zealand. Our Embassies and High Commissions also engage with their counterparts regularly on seabed critical minerals, including in the Pacific. It is not possible to collate a comprehensive list of these engagements within the timeframes for written parliamentary questions.
