25746 (2026). Vanushi Walters to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: What discussions, if any, has the Minister or officials had with foreign counterparts regarding cooperation on transnational, serious and organised crime in the Pacific region since 1 January 2026, by date and location?
Rt Hon Winston Peters: There have been a range of discussions at the Ministerial level about transnational, serious and organised crime in the Pacific region since 1 January. Some of these discussions took place in Australia, the United States of America, and in New Zealand.
Officials discuss priority issues like transnational crime with foreign counterparts in the Pacific regularly, including in the context of the Pacific Transnational Crime Summit in May 2026 and the Pacific Islands Forum Sub-Committee on Regional Security.
It is not possible to collate a comprehensive list of these engagements within the timeframes for written parliamentary questions.
