25714 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What notice period, if any, was given to the public and stakeholders before the closure of each decommissioned website, and how, if at all, were patients and the public directly informed of the changes?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand usually notifies users of website closures through notices placed on affected websites and through engagement with relevant website owners and stakeholders. I am further advised that Health NZ does not apply a standard minimum notice period for all website closures. Where websites are decommissioned, redirects are typically implemented to direct users from legacy web addresses to relevant content on national platforms.
