25645 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How many radiology scans were performed at each of Dargaville, Bay of Islands, Kaitāia, Kenepuru, Wairarapa, Wairoa, Kaikōura, Ōamaru, Ashburton, Taumarunui, Lakes District, Te Kūiti, Hāwera, Thames, Whakatāne, Wairau, Taupō, Te Nīkau Grey, and Tokoroa hospitals in each month from 1 November 2025 to the most recent month for which complete data is held, broken down by modality (CT, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray, DEXA, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology, mammography, nuclear medicine, and PET)?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand is developing a health data platform to provide a consistent dataset for radiology at a hospital level. However, this dataset is not yet complete. I am therefore advised that providing the Member with this information would require Health New Zealand to undertake a substantial manual collation exercise and divert staff from their core duties. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210-6, I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest.
