25579 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Education: How many permanent staff, if any, were employed within each of the Minister’s responsible agencies, if any, during 2024/25 financial year?

Hon Erica Stanford: As at 31 March 2025, the Ministry of Education had 3,702.59 full-time equivalent (FTE) permanent staff. Education New Zealand currently has 71 permanent staff during the 2024/25 financial year. This number includes eight permanent staff that support the operational management of the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Programme funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority had 459 permanent staff by headcount employed during the 2024/2025 financial year as at 31 March 2025. I am advised that 226 permanent staff were employed at ERO during the 2024/25 financial year. This includes both full time and part-time staff.
