25576 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Ethnic Communities: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies for which savings have been identified, resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, what percentage of employees who have lost or are set to lose their roles, as well as vacancies that will not be filled, if any, are located in the Canterbury Region, as at 30 May 2024?
Hon Melissa Lee: The Ministry disestablished 30 roles and created 21 roles as a result of their change process. This is a net reduction of nine roles. Of the 30 roles disestablished, six roles (20%) were in the Canterbury Region. There were three new roles created in the Canterbury Region (14%), noting that a further role could be either Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch based.
