25566 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Education: How many permanent staff, if any, were employed within each of the Minister’s responsible agencies, if any, during 2023/24 financial year?

Hon Erica Stanford: For the Ministry of Education, I refer the member to the response to Question 64 of the 2023/24 Annual Review (Appendix 13), available at https://www.parliament.nz/resource/en-NZ/54SCEDUW_EVI_d7786905-a38e-44d3-21c3-08dcee21bb3d_EDUW2283/3523db99c31a116ffd0aa454fb5aedd31ada8983. Education New Zealand had 93 permanent staff during the 2023/24 financial year. This number includes eight permanent staff that support the operational management of the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Programme funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority had 468 permanent staff by headcount employed during 2023/24 financial year as at 30 June 2024. I am advised that 222 permanent staff were employed at ERO during the 2023/24 financial year. This includes both full time and part-time staff.
