25553 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Education: How many permanent staff, if any, were employed within each of the Minister’s responsible agencies, if any, during 2022/23 financial year?

Hon Erica Stanford: For the Ministry of Education, I refer the member to the response to Question 64 of the 2022/23 Annual Review (Appendix 14), available at 6fa418e79390ac4f32a6fe012975a13fd30397c5 Education New Zealand had 96 permanent staff during the 2022/23 financial year. This number includes eight permanent staff that support the operational management of the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Programme funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority had 486 permanent staff by headcount employed during 2022/23 financial year as at 30 June 2023. I am advised that 206 permanent staff were employed at ERO during the 2022/23 financial year. This includes both full time and part-time staff.
