25528 (2026). Scott Willis to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has the government made on implementing the Dementia Mate Wareware Action Plan 2020-2025 since they came into office in November 2023?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that implementation of the Dementia Mate Wareware Action Plan 2020-2025 is well underway. In June 2023, seven service trials were commissioned to test locally responsive, New Zealand-specific models of care. Health New Zealand is evaluating these trials to inform future decisions on the commissioning of dementia services, with reports of findings expected by June 2027.
