Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for the Environment: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies for which savings have been identified, resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, what percentage of employees who have lost or are set to lose their roles, as well as vacancies that will not be filled, if any, are located in the Taranaki Region, as at 30 May 2024?

Hon Penny Simmonds: Consultation on a proposed new structure for the Ministry for the Environment began on 5 June 2024. During the consultation, all employees will be invited to provide feedback on the proposed structure. The Ministry is unable to confirm whether there will be any redundancies prior to the conclusion of the consultation process and the implementation of the new structure.
