25356 (2026). Vanushi Walters to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: Will any portion of the International Development Cooperation funding in Budget 2026 be directed to climate finance, if any, and how does the level of climate finance compare with each of the previous two financial years?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: Yes. In 2024/25, NZ$294 million of International Development Cooperation (IDC) funding was directed to climate finance. We are projecting NZ$245 million of IDC climate finance in 2025/26, and NZ$299 million in 2026/27. We expect IDC investment in climate finance to continue to be a similar proportion of total IDC spend in future years.
