25299 (2026). Vanushi Walters to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: Was New Zealand asked to co-sponsor the Vanuatu-led resolution at the United Nations General Assembly, and if so, what was the rationale for declining?
Rt Hon Winston Peters: Yes, New Zealand was asked to co-sponsor the resolution. New Zealand did not co-sponsor the resolution given our views on it, which are set out in the explanation of vote delivered following New Zealand’s vote in favour of the resolution.
