25233 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Customs: How much funding, if any, was spent on capital works by the each of the Minister’s responsible agencies, if any, during the 2024/25 financial year?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that, as at 30 April 2025, the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) has spent $11.497 million of the $21.054 million allocated for capital works within Vote Customs in the 2024/25 Financial Year (excluding GST). Between 30 April 2025 and 30 June 2025, this figure is expected to increase, as completed projects are formally capitalised as part of financial year-end procedures. The capital expenditure allocation for 2025/26 is $21.054 million (excluding GST). The Border Executive Board appropriation is funded by Vote Customs and administered by the New Zealand Customs Service who is also the servicing department for the Border Executive Board secretariat.
